What is happiness? What is full happiness?
Happiness has been defined as both pleasure received and given. To some they tend to be more happy when they are on the receiving end, when they are benefiting from the service or a material gift of another. However many others feel that happiness comes from giving. To give of ones self can be the most joyful experience. There are many ways to give of ourselves. One way in which many give of themselves is through love, either for their children (which is a special source of happiness all its own) or for the fellow man. I myself have not had the privilege of having children of my own, but hope one day to have this source of happiness. I have several siblings who are partaking of this joy, I see the love they have for their children and likewise the love being returned.
To a child happiness can be the simple joy from playing with a new friend or even a new toy. Young children tend to find happiness much easier than teens or adults. There are several sources of happiness, some temporary, others more long term. Teens seem to find happiness spending time with their friends or peers. Adults likewise seek happiness from their friends or hobbies. One source of happiness for me is classic cars. I love to look at all types of old cars and trucks, both restored and unrestored. I sold my 1949 GMC pickup in January of 2002 so I can move and marry my fiance. I was married on March 28, 2002, which let me partake of a great new happiness and new chapter of my life. On March 22,2004 My wonderful wife let me purchase a new project, a 1955 first series 3/4 ton pickup.
Where do we go to find true or full happiness? Full happiness comes from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In the world today there is so much evil, so many things that cause people remorse, if someone does not stay focused, then it is easy to fall into depression or hatred.
I hope to discuss as many aspects or types of happiness as I can on this site, and I hope to get visitor feedback in order to make this page improve and grow.
